Chicken Momo Recipe
If there is anything that makes cold winters warm, its juicy and flavorsome momos filled with tender chicken and spices that salivate your mouth wanting for more ! It’s a Nepalian food. In the winter evening a plate of hot chicken momos in your window – this is a combination to die for! It’s a simple recipe. Momos are steamed dumpling’s filled with minced chicken, onion, cilantro and spices ! you could also go a step ahead and pan fry the steamed momos if you like!
Ingredients :
Chicken mince 1 cup
Refined flour 2 cups
Salt to taste
Spring onions with greens chopped 2
Ginger chopped 1 inch piece
Green chillies chopped 2
Garlic chopped 5-6 cloves
Soy sauce 2 teaspoons
Method :
Step 1: Firstly you need a bowl to make a dough. Put flour and salt in a bowl and mixed it very well. Then add enough warm water and press into a soft dough. Then add minced chicken, spring onions, ginger, green chilies, garlic, soya sauce and salt together and set aside.
Step 2: After making a dough then rest it about 15/20 minutes. Then divide dough into fifteen small sizes. Then shape them into balls and roll put thinly. Then put a teaspoon of the filling in the middle of the shape and bring all sides together to the center. Then making small tight pleats.
Step 3: Then pinch and twist the pleats to make sure that the momo is closed tightly. Then steam in steamer for abut 15/20 minutes. Then serve it tomato or garlic sauce which you like most.
