About a three-quarter of Bangladeshi is unable to healthy diet on a daily basis. However, the percentage has reduced a bit from 77.4% in 2017 to 73.5% 2020, it’s not a healthy number since only a quarter people can have access to a basic human right.

The number is 3.1B worldwide which is about half the world population. In the report, it is shown that the Nepalese has the least access to healthy food and Pakistanis comes the second last.

The data was published jointly by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), World Food Program, and International Fund for Agricultural Development under a heading ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2022’.

Among the eight vulnerable South Asian countries, Bangladesh was the third on the list. Per person average cost for nutritious foods in a daily meal is about 276 BDT.

No doubt, the recent inflation and Russia-Ukraine war has fueled this matter number will go up and even more people will lose access to their very food right. The upcoming year may bring famine and the developing nations will be affected most.

Our question is, is Bangladesh prepared to beat the upcoming food scarcity in 2023?
